Our Coffee Table Choices

Decorating your own home can be a real challenge for home owners. When you first think about it, it might seem the easiest thing to do. What’s so hard about picking out a few pieces of furniture and then arranging them inside your home to suit your taste and that of the rest of your family’s? Nothing, that might be the impression at first, but try your hand at it and it would seem one of the most difficult tasks of building a home. Once you get started on it you just can’t seem to make a final decision about anything. Where this or that furniture should go or if one should be replaced is quite maddening in itself.

I experienced that firsthand when the construction of our house was completed last year. After every bit of construction was finished, I decided that I would like to take charge of the interior decorating myself. I just felt that things could go more smoothly once I do that. Well, I almost regretted that decision when I ran into some headaches once the decorating got under way. Making the choices of furniture was one thing, but actually making them work as a whole inside the house took some real hard decision-making.

I had some particular issues about my coffee table
. My wife and I couldn’t readily agree on the design that we wanted to get. We both loved that particular type of table and we could never have a house without one. It’s just that we couldn’t get to agree initially on the design and the size of the table that we wanted to get. She wanted a small to medium sized table which had intricate designs on it, while I wanted to go for a large coffee table which had a plainer look. We finally did agree and we got the one she wanted, the smaller but more beautifully designed one. As for the rest of the decorating and furniture, things got on more smoothly and easily after that.
